Manhattan Beach, CA — September 20, 2025 — Homeira Goldstein, Chairman of the Board of TIME4ART, with the support of the Manhattan Beach Art Center, are thrilled to present Continuation, a momentous exhibition showcasing the works of
Charles Arnoldi, Natalie Arnoldi, and Ryland Arnoldi. Curated by David Austin of Austin Art Projects, Continuation marks Arnoldi family’s first joint exhibition in Greater Los Angeles.
This compelling show explores the Arnoldis’ enduring commitment to a life immersed in art. From a father devoted to visual expression and a passion for creating art, to a mother committed to literature, and their children influenced by both, the family was profoundly inspired and shaped by the vibrant creative energy of the Southern California art scene that surrounded them.
Charles Arnoldi, born in 1946, has been a prominent figure in the Southern California art scene since the 1970s. A multidisciplinary artist, Charles’ expansive practice spans painting and sculpture, often incorporating a wide range of materials including plywood, branches, bronze, and oil and acrylic paint. His works have been acquired and exhibited by major public institutions, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, among many others.
Continuation spotlights Charles’ recent Island paintings, which revisit visual themes and formal strategies from his iconic
Hawaii series of the 1990s. While the Island works retain echoes of their predecessors, they are unmistakably informed by the evolution of the artist’s language in recent decades, integrating bolder spatial tensions, new palettes, and the distilled complexity of a master refining his voice over time.
Natalie Arnoldi, born in 1990, is a distinguished painter and a scientist, holding a PhD in Marine Ecology from Stanford University. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including at the Manhattan Beach Art Center, Bakersfield Museum of Art and the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. Distinct from her father’s aesthetic, Natalie’s paintings are atmospheric and evocative, often centered on the sea, sky, and natural phenomena. Her masterful command of light and scale invites a sense of both wonder and unease, prompting viewers to contemplate the sublime tension between beauty and fragility in the natural world.
Ryland Arnoldi, born in 1988, has developed a distinctive visual language and personal imagery rooted in vivid, technicolor depictions of landscapes. While his work diverges from the abstraction of his father, subtle echoes of Charle’s Arnoldi’s
influence can be felt in Ryland’s bold use of color and composition. Though representational in nature, Ryland’s graphic,
stylized paintings transcend realism, inviting viewers to imagine sunsets and horizons beyond those found in everyday experience, existing somewhere between memory, imagination, and dream.
David Austin, founder of Austin Art Projects in 1991, is focused on showcasing works across all media, including painting, sculpture, ceramic, and studio glass. Over the past three decades, Austin has organized and represented more than 200 exhibitions featuring nationally and internationally renowned contemporary artists, including Arman, Charles Arnoldi, Jennifer Bartlett, Ross Bleckner, Dale Chihuly, Sam Gilliam, Peter Halley, Jun Kaneko, Ken Price, Mel Ramos, Donald Sultan, Lino Tagliapietra, Paul Villinski, William Wegman, Tom Wesselmann, and Toots Zynsky, among many others.
“Continuation” exhibition is Envisioned and Presented by Homeira Goldstein, Chairman of the Board of TIME4ART, a non-profit art educational organization in Manhattan Beach, California with the mission of enhancing cultural art awareness in
the South Bay and Greater Los Angeles.
